Every new day takes us one step closer to death

Yesterday gone, tomorrow faraway……..only an anticipation

Another day begins……….

As you open your eyes……..

First thing what comes to your mind?

First thing what do you hasten to do?

Do you stop for a second?

To think, to take a break!

Do you wonder about the fact that you lay half unconscious and now you are up on your feet?

Do you just start running?

With the thought who cares? Here I come!

Do you wonder?

Why, How!

how the universe goes on in the same pattern…….

Life goes on………

At last the day comes to an end……

What did you gain!

What did you learn!

What did you think!

Whose hand did you hold!

Which path did you take!

A day comes and a day passes by!

Would you let today be just another day

Even after knowing for sure it takes you only a step closer to death..

Wouldn’t you take a break and think !

Ramadan Mubaarik

Ramadan is a month in which Allah’s numerous blessings flow…hence with the beginning of Ramadan we are blessed with another chance, another chance to become a better Muslim ,a better human being…It’s the time to let go of all negative feelings ,to lend a helping hand….this is the time to strive hard to be a Muslim. To get the spiritual and physical benefit of fasting we should not only avoid food, but should not waste most time sleeping or in amusements…we should thank Allah, worship Allah, help those in need, avoid envy, jealousy backbiting …., learn more about Islam and share what you learn with others and it’s the time to make our hearts pure…What we should try is not to pass time, but to try to make use of each second, each minute of this blessed month worshipping Allah.

Wish all a blessed month of Ramadan..

Freedom of speech???

Criticism, constructive criticism is something we all need………We need to hear it ; what others have to say about us and we have to give our constructive criticism to others……..This can be defined as somewhat an obligation as a human……….The higher authority a person has the scale of this should get larger…….This is for the betterment of everyone around………This rule applies to families, offices, companies, institutions, and of course government too.

When we give constructive criticism it is an action of courage, sincerity , honesty and integrity and when we can listen to our weak points which comes in a constructive manner it shows we believe in the saying no one is perfect an there is always a lot of room for improvement…It takes courage to give constructive criticism and listen to your weak points

I would like to take an example regarding politics…….It’s almost always that the opposite cannot criticize the other party in a constructive way..This creates confusion in the mind of observers, listeners or readers……They fail to realize whom to listen to…..and this gives arise to lots of confusions and hatred……..

We should question people in authorities, we have a right to…..But those rights can be or should be exercised with in certain limits….The mutual respect should exist……. Attacking political figures personally , is it what we call freedom of speech? Using abusive language when criticizing others, cannot be called constructive criticism ..

We have a tendency to blame everything around us rather than our own selves for things that happen to us……….We cannot improve our own selves if we want the world to change before us, we have to change our own selves and our own thinking as well………..Let there be criticism……..But let it come with in limits, with in Islamic principles and values…………..

TVM......our local TV

If I am not mistaken it has been more than 30 years since TVM came in to existence……..

And TVM also has come through several stages to arrive at its present state…There are some good shows on TVM, I am sure and we should appreciate it, (like news etc…)

Media can play a major role in influencing the youth…..As people spend so much time in front of TV it is highly likely when they turn their attention elsewhere they have taken something from it…..have stored something in their brain…

We see dramas, songs, talk shows etc in TVM…it begins with hendhunuhendhunaa show..which I am not sure if it is a talk show, a variety show, a comedy show or what…..and the songs which comes in between makes it more confusing to categorize what kind of show exactly it is..

Nowadays when ever one tunes in to TVM, many a times what we see is some live event of Olympics….

I wonder how many people actually watch those……

And Heyyanbo happens to be many peoples favourite show..It can easily be defined as a variety show

Cause after the "naseyhathuge" bas comes a song..so it can easily be defined as a variety show…..But I guess the choice lies with in us, that is to take the wisdom in the naseyhathuge baskolhu or concentrate on the lyrics of the song which comes after it….The ultimate truth is we have to change ourselves and not wait till the "world" changes...

Isnt it funny?

Its funny that,

Its so easy to find fault in others, yet we never realize our own faults

Its so easy to talk bad about others, yet so difficult to tolerate when some one else talks bad about us.

We see faults everywhere we look around, but never a fault in us.

We see things in others they can improve, but never see anything in us which needs improving

We try to change the world, but never try to change ourselves.

We give good advice to others, but never advice our own selves.

We try to compete, others in worldly stuff, but never try to compete, one another in worshipping Allah.

We try to entertain ourselves in amusements, but are never satisfied

We try to look for contentment everywhere, but never seek contentment from Almighty Allah.

We want others to help us, but hesitate to help others.

We want others to love us, but do not love others.

We want kindness from others, but hesitate in being kind to others.

It’s funny, that its always I, myself, me……..

Its funny, that we are so selfish…………………

What have we gained along with the "civilization"?

Tall buildings, Institutions, schools, hospitals, places such as artificial beach, “maizaans” etc these are visible signs of civilization over the past few decades. We can’t deny these obvious signs of civilization…

But what have we gained along with the civilization? What have we gained as humans? Are we better humans than we were before we got this civilization? Are we better Muslims? Are youth more aware of Islam now than youth of the past?

Back then, there weren’t big schools with modern facilities…Now there are many schools with modern facilities, computers, labs, etc…….But it is a known fact that kids do not respect teachers and there is no discipline in many of the kids.

Back then I don’t think there were Quran competitions, but there were plenty of “Edhuruges” filled with little kids who can read Quran fluently from the age of 6-7 and kids who completed reading the whole Quran by the age of 6-7.From certain “Edhuruges” how to perform 5 obligatory prayers too were taught..

Now in the report form there is a column which states “namaadh kuran ingey, namaadh kuran neyngey” Kids who get ticked in the first box do they really know how to perform the prayers and do they know the value of it? And there are tables too in some classes in which the child has to tick if the kid prayed or not…….!!!!!!!!! Understanding the value of prayers is more important than filling up a table which is seen by many.

Back then there were health centers, which can be defined as a first aid box, now there are huge hospitals, with several staffs and facilities, but the complaints of the patients go on and further still some of the youth are more in need of drug rehabilitation centers than hospitals.

Back then there was very little TV. People rented videos and TVS too to watch films..Now there are TVs in every house and in certain houses in every room too. Back then people gathered at places to watch “thiyabeyfulhunnatakkai”, “filmy dhuniye” etc…But now there is 24 hours TV..Are people happier and more contented by watching non stop TV and by watching TV serials which gives its own messages to the people who watches it.

Back then there weren’t mobile phones or even landlines weren’t in every house. People paid a coin to other houses and made phone calls when ever they had to make a call…It was considered a great luxury back then..But now almost everyone uses a cellphone…People are connected 24 hours with relatives, friends, co workers etc…..! Back then there were letters, walkie talkies…People weren’t so easily connected…….But one might say that relation ships were more valued back then…

Back then people treated their guests well, People invited friends, relatives, and strangers too for food…

Now there are huge parties to which people dress up and go, and look around to see who is the best dressed…………

Another point worth highlighting is have we learned to tolerate the differences that arose with the access to internet and education? Or, overall have these differences caused more harm than good? Despite certain differences of opinion in religion or politics we should learn to tolerate and respect others….For example, for some dressing in total hijaab etc is not easy to digest…and if people with differences in opinion starts pointing finger at the other, its likely that some people will get “really confused.”

The conveniences which come along with civilizations are an undeniable fact, like electricity, technology etc .Maldives too have tasted a portion of this civilization over the past decades…However what every human searches in one way or the other is contentment and peace of mind..and this can in no way be achieved from only materialistic things…It comes from abiding by certain principles and values…That is what matters most….For us these principles and values comes from Quran and hadith of prophet SAW. Under any circumstance we should try be sincere, and tolerant…..These principles and values we follow reminds us over and over again that life is nothing but a test……….
